Prices of petroleum products were announced


 ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, while announcing to maintain prices of petroleum products, rejected OGRA's summary.


 According to details, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif decided not to increase the prices of petroleum products and announced to maintain the prices.

Shahbaz Sharif rejected OGRA's summary of increase in prices of petroleum products.


 It may be recalled that OGRA had sent a summary of increase in petroleum products to the Petroleum Division. Government sources had said that petroleum products were likely to become more expensive.


 Sources said that high speed diesel is being subsidized at Rs 23.3 per liter and light diesel at Rs 8.8 per liter while the government is already bearing the subsidy of Rs 9.32 per liter on petrol.

According to sources, the government had abolished subsidy on kerosene while at present sales tax on petroleum products and petroleum levy is zero.


 Last month, the Shahbaz government increased the price of petrol by Rs 60.
