YouTube offers podcasts up to $30,000 to create videos
YouTube is looking to add more podcasts to its platform by offering grants of up to $30,000 for video creation.
YouTube is offering grants of up to $30,000 to create videos that include prerecorded versions of the show. Each creator can receive $15,000 individually, while podcast networks can receive anywhere from $20,000 to $30,000.
Bloomberg reports that YouTube appears to be pursuing podcasts more aggressively, competing with rivals like Spotify. The company has also appointed CEO Kai Chuk to lead the podcasting strategy. Spotify and Amazon recently struck a bigger podcast deal.
YouTube rival to TikTok YouTube Shorts has launched in Pakistan
YouTube grants will provide a good incentive for podcasters to create more content such as videos on the platform.
Previously, YouTube Shorts added a new feature that allows users to change the sound for videos in the app. Currently, YouTube creators can only use music and audio from the YouTube library and use third-party video editors to add other audio recordings.
